010 Quadruple Wood Ikebana Vase
(PHKAx000bjects)

Dimension: 10.50 x 10.50 x 20.00 cm
Materials: Tabaek, Makha, Taeng, and Daeng (ironwood)

010 Quadruple Wood Ikebana Vase is a collaborative project between PHKA and 000bjects with the initial question on how to display ikebana as an art practice. Inspired by how the artwork is displayed in an art gallery, 010 appropriates the form of a display stand and turns it into an idiosyncratic stand that is specifically made for display “the art of ikebana”.

In terms of materials, 010’s body is made of 4 types of hardwood: that are resistance to moisture and crack. Not only that it has everlasting durability in terms of function, each wood is selected by us to create the best combination of colours and textuires that will enrich the overall impression of flowers.

Together with the vase, an ikebana kenzan, a flower pin is located on the top allowing the user to professionally practice the arts of  flower arranging with flexible angles and compositions.

009 Meshed Vase
(PHKAx000bjects)

Dimension: 10.00 x 10.00 x 22.00 cm
Materials: polished stainless steel, sandblasted glass tray

009 Meshed Vase is a collaborative project between PHKA and 000bjects. The piece is design to create a contemporary style that challenge our perception of an ikebana vase. Cube mesh, as a stalk/branch holder, has a specific bodily space that allows a more experimental composition to happen. A glass tray, inside, is for storing water in order to nourish the flowers. This vase aesthetically resembles a found-object artwork that expresses the urge to experiment and discover new possibilities, both for designers and ikebana practitioners.
